Abstract The Pine Street Church was formed in 1827. In April of 1857, the Committee of the Pine Street Church met to discuss the sale of the church’s property. The church building was later sold in July of 1857. After the sale of the building, the Pine Street Church and Society purchased land for a new church building at the intersection of Berkeley Street and Warren Avenue in the South End of Boston. Abstract

Fourth Congregational Church of Chicago traces its origins back to a Congregational Sunday school which started in 1867 and met in a blacksmith shop. From this Sunday school sprang three churches, Grace, Cortland Street, and Maplewood. These three churches merged in 1916 and took the name Fourth Church. The records include finances, youth education and outreach, membership records, correspondence, reports, and church newsletters.

Abstract Dean Augustus Walker was born in 1860 in Turkey. He attended Yale and the University of Chicago and was married to Mary Ladd Smith in 1896. He was ordained as a Congregational minister in 1901 and served the Mt. Desert Congregational Church of Tremont for three years. His later career focused on teaching various religious and language courses for a number of institutions, including the Syrian Protestant College in Beruit. Abstract The Second Church in Dorchester was first organized on January 1, 1808 by 64 members of First Church. The first official pastor for the newly formed Second Church was Dr. John Codman. Codman was a member of an influential family and graduated from Harvard. Abstract The First Church of Christ in Granville was gathered in 1744, and Moses Tuttle was ordained as the first minister in 1747. The first meeting house was constructed during Tuttle’s ministry. Timothy Mather Cooley, a Granville native, was called to become the minister of the First Church of Christ in 1795 and he served as the pastor for 63 years.
